Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit this website or contact the expert, and which rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is:

Decker Expertise, Christine Decker
18, rue des Joncs
L-1818 Howald
Luxembourg
Phone: +352 691 809 626
Email: christine.decker04@gmail.com

2. Which data is processed

  • Appointment form: your name, email address and message, which are required, and, if you fill them in, your phone number, the type of request, the preferred date and time, and the court or file reference.
  • Emails and phone calls: the details you give when you contact the expert directly.
  • Engagements: the details needed to carry out and invoice the work, such as contact details, a description of the pieces examined, the report and the invoice. In a court case, some of these details come from the court or from the parties.
  • Server logs: on every visit, the host records your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and your browser.
  • Spam protection: when the form is sent, a shortened code derived from your IP address.

Visits are also counted, without identifying you (see section 6). The site has no visitor accounts and no newsletter.

3. Purposes and legal basis

  • Answering your request and arranging an appointment: article 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps taken at your request before a contract.
  • Carrying out an engagement for a client: article 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of the contract.
  • Carrying out a mission given by a court: article 6(1)(c) GDPR, legal obligation.
  • Keeping the accounts and invoices: article 6(1)(c) GDPR, legal obligation under the Commercial Code.
  • Keeping the site secure and the form free of spam (server logs, anti-spam code): article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in a site that works safely.
  • Counting visits: article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read.

4. Who receives your data

Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising. It is only passed to:

  • Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vyronos, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, which hosts the site, keeps the server logs and sends the form by email.
  • Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, which provides the mailbox where requests arrive and are kept.
  • In a court case: the court and the parties, who receive the report as the procedure requires.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Hostinger is established in Cyprus, in the European Union, and the server is in France.

Google may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.

6. Cookies and visit statistics

This site sets no cookies in your browser. Fonts and all other files come from the site itself; nothing is loaded from other websites.

Visits are counted by Koko Analytics, which runs on this site itself. It uses no cookies and sends nothing to anyone else. Only daily totals are kept: the pages viewed and the site a visitor came from.

So that a visitor is not counted twice in the same day, it keeps a code made from the connection and the browser. This code is replaced every 24 hours. The IP address itself is not stored.

7. How long data is kept

  • Requests that do not lead to an engagement: deleted after 12 months.
  • Engagement files, reports and invoices: 10 years, the period that article 16 of the Luxembourg Commercial Code sets for accounting documents.
  • Server logs: for the period set by the host, [retention period of the server logs at Hostinger].
  • Anti-spam code: it expires after one hour and is then deleted.
  • Visit statistics: the code is replaced every 24 hours; the daily totals do not identify anyone.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Access: to know whether data about you is processed and to receive a copy.
  • Rectification: to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Erasure: to have your data deleted when there is no longer a reason to keep it.
  • Restriction: to have the use of your data put on hold, for example while its accuracy is checked.
  • Objection: to object to processing based on a legitimate interest.
  • Portability: to receive the data you provided in a common electronic format, or to have it sent to someone else.

To use any of these rights, write to the expert by email: christine.decker04@gmail.com

You will receive an answer within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), 15, Boulevard du Jazz, L-4370 Belvaux, cnpd.public.lu.

9. Security and data breaches

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Nothing from the form is stored in the database of the site: the request is sent by email to the expert.

To block spam, your browser solves a small calculation before the form is sent. No outside captcha service is used.

If a data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, the expert reports it to the CNPD within 72 hours, and tells you without undue delay if the risk is high.

10. Automated decisions

No decision about you is made by automated means, and no profile of you is built.

11. Children

This site is not aimed at children under 16.

12. Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as those of the CNPD or the Ministry of Justice. Once you open them, their own privacy policies apply.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the site or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows the current version.

14. Contact
